About Schuyler Grant
Schuyler Grant is one of the most respected voices in yoga and embodied wellness: a world-renowned teacher, entrepreneur, and community architect whose influence spans three decades, four continents, and thousands of students and teachers.
She is the founder and co-director of Kula Yoga Project, the iconic New York City studio she opened just two blocks north of Ground Zero in 2002, as an act of healing for a city in grief. She is also the co-creator of Wanderlust Festival, the globe-spanning wellness gathering she built alongside her partner Jeff Krasno and college friend Sean Hoess, one of the largest yoga and mindful living festivals in the world.
Raised on a communal property in Northern California, Schuyler studied history and filmmaking at Columbia University before pivoting to yoga, a path she never planned, but one that found her. Today, she is a mother of three daughters (all born at home), a creator of sought-after online and in-person training programs, and a co-creator of Luminescence, Commune’s new podcast and community platform dedicated to women’s health.
